ADD SPARKLE TO YOUR SKATES:
Somerset House launches Ice Dancing programme with Big Dance and English National Ballet
Hello everyone ! You might recall that last Christmas I spent the most heavenly time at Somerset House when I interviewed Maria Engel for a special Cupcakes at Tiffany’s. The company set up a giant Tiffany blue cube jammed full with diamonds and cupcakes. This year, Tiffany & Co sponsor the event again, and you can look forward to a magical festive atmosphere that will follow you all the way home. Plus, the ‘Tuck Shop’ is back – and you can sample the delights of the Tiffany Blue Box with a bow on top just by walking into Somerset House. You must ! What’s more, there’s an URBAN IGLOO, where music will be played on instruments made from pure ice !
Skate at Somerset House, presented by Tiffany & Co, will run from 23 November to 23 January. There is no experience which can quite match the romance of skating at Somerset House, the most famous and perhaps the most beautiful of the ice skating rinks in London. Since 2000, over 1 million Londoners have skated at Somerset House, making it the definitive winter experience in the capital.
This season will bring the fun of ice dancing to everyone in a brand new programme launched in partnership with Big Dance and English National Ballet alongside more music, more entertainment and an expanded Skate School.

He will give three 30 minute concerts a day using these fragile instruments, some carved from ancient glaciers, together with beautiful Norwegian vocalist Lena Nymark. At other times an ethereal sound and video installation, commissioned by Opera North Projects, will animate the space, transporting visitors deep into the Idea of North. Presented in association with sounduk
Tiffany & Co, partners of Skate at Somerset House, add to the glamour with their own Tiffany Blue Box Tuck Shop selling Tiffany jewellery and delicious sweets and chocolates by master chocolatier Cocomaya. For families, Breakfast With Tiffany, with champagne and hot chocolate will warm up the early morning experience of skating on Saturdays before Christmas; and the specially decorated 40ft high Tiffany Tree creates a beautiful focus for the rink over Christmas.
