You do not necessarily need to have professional experience, but we would love to hear from people who are trained and enthusiastic ballet dancers, with strong skills in dancing on pointe, to perform in front of a stadium audience and to millions of people around the world.All cast volunteers will need to be available for up to two auditions in November and December 2011, up to three rehearsals a week from June 2012 and a few all-day rehearsals running up to the Ceremonies. These will all be based in East London.

4. I accept that I will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check and other background checks *
5. I am available to attend auditions that will take place in the evenings during November and early December of this year *
6. I understand that being a volunteer performer for Ceremonies requires: *
  • Participating in two to three rehearsal sessions each week of up to four hours per session from March 2012 and;
  • A number of all-day rehearsals in the three weeks leading up to each Ceremony.

    @Jo, that’s a shame.

    To all those asking what they should do if they already have a general audition date : that’s fine. The audition should pick up your pointe skills. Subsequently, the casting director decided to target ballet dancers, hence this press article. There is a way to highlight on the form that you are a pointe dancer, so get in touch if you haven’t done this and want to send another application.
