A dance-packed feast of Comedy, Love and Adventure in old Spain.
Based on an episode from Miguel de Cervantes’ famous novel, Don Quixote del la Mancha, the story follows its title hero, a middle-aged country gentleman absorbed with tales of chivalry, who sets out to defend virtue and to punish those who violate the code of honor. With his servant Sancho Panza as his armor-bearer, he travels to Barcelona, only to mistake an inn-keeper’s daughter for his dream-lover…Dulcinea. The rousing score by Ludwig Minkus endows each scene with rich atmosphere. Don Quixote is the perfect ballet for all ages!
Special Family Matinee Saturday, Feb 17 at 1:30 includes free special fun events for children beginning at 12:30 at the theater.
