Organised by Big Dance, the world’s largest biennial festival of dance, with the support of the British Council, The Big Dance Pledge has been learnt and will be performed by over 32,000 people this weekend in hundreds of places around the world including India, Lebanon and Brazil.
Specially choreographed by English National Ballet Creative Learning department, the Big Dance 3-minute dance routine is a dance anyone can do – regardless of age or experience.
Tamara Rojo, Big Dance International Ambassador, said: “I am so excited that we are leading the Big Dance Pledge and I really hope that we will inspire as many people as possible to take part, with their friends, neighbours, families, wherever they are. This is a chance to learn something new and be part of a great community experience.”
Jacqueline Rose, Director of Big Dance, said: “Last year we were able to reach millions of people all over the country through the Big Dance Festival. We expect to build on that again in the next Big Dance Festival in 2014. The Pledge this year continues that story and give us the opportunity to remind everyone of the power of Big Dance to mobilise communities around the world.”
