Jorma Elo brings work to UK with the Royal New Zealand Ballet

Boston Ballet recently announced that choreographer Jorma Elo has recently been awarded the prestigious Benois De La Danse prize for Best Choreography of 2010. The RNZB will be bringing Elo’s Plan to A to the UK for their triple bill season of From Here to There this July and this will be the first time a major work of Elo’s has been seen in the UK.

Plan to A is influenced by Elo’s experience working with some of the worlds most respected and ground-breaking choreographers including William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián and Matz Ek. Stunning and emotive, Plan to A is an abstract work for seven dancers, full of Elo’s elegant and energetic choreographic vocabulary. Dressed in vivacious red, the dancers move seamlessly across the stage in a highly stylised, mesmerising flow of movement.

The RNZB will perform From Here to There at-

Cardiff – WMC – Monday 11 July at 7:30pm

London – Barbican Theatre – Thursday 14 – Saturday 16 July at 7:45pm

Nottingham – PlayHouse – Tuesday 19 July at 8:00pm

Bradford – Alhambra – Wednesday 20 July at 7:30pm

Sisteron –Théâtre de la Citadelle – Friday 22 July at 9:30pm
