BIRMINGHAM ROYAL BALLET ANNOUNCEMENTS JULY 2013

At the end of the 2012/2013 Season, Birmingham Royal Ballet is able to announce:

 

The following dancers are promoted:

Momoko Hirata is promoted from First Soloist to Principal.

Tyrone Singleton is promoted from First Soloist to Principal.

Yijing Zhang is promoted from Artist to First Artist.

 

The following dancers have been offered contracts with the Company:

Miles Gilliver will join the Company from Elmhurst School for Dance as an Artist.
Nikita Ruhl will join the Company from The Royal Ballet School as an Artist.
Yasuo Atsuji has been offered a contract (subject to visa) to return to the company from National Ballet of Japan as a First Artist.

Yaoqian Shang has been offered a contract (subject to visa) to join the Company from The Royal Ballet School as an Artist.
Mariko Sasaki has been offered a contract (subject to visa) to join the Company from The Royal Ballet School as an Artist.

 

At the end of the 12/13 season we say goodbye and all the very best of luck in their new careers to the following:

Ambra Vallo, Principal, leaves the Company after 17 years to pursue a career as a Yoga Instructor.

Victoria Marr, First Soloist, leaves the Company to pursue a career as a businesswoman and co-founder of sleektechnique.com.

Kristen McGarrity, Artist, leaves the Company to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter/musician and will also build on her passion as a choreographer and dance teacher.

Laura Davenport, Artist, leaves the Company to train in midwifery at the University of Leeds.

 

During the 12/13 season the following dancers left Birmingham Royal Ballet:

Matthew Lawrence, Principal, left BRB in January 2013 and joined Queensland Ballet as a Principal Dancer.

Carol-Anne Millar, Principal, left the Company in April 2013 to pursue a career in dance teaching.
