The Sanctuary Spa releases the first stunning campaign image of world-renowned ballerina Darcey Bussell, the face of the Sanctuary Spa’s new Active Reverse skincare range.

The Sanctuary Spa in Covent Garden was originally founded as a retreat for ballerinas in The Royal Ballet before becoming the very first ladies only day spa in the UK. The partnership with the new Strictly Come Dancing judge sees the brand return to its ballet origins as it marks its 35th year as a relaxing haven for busy women.

Shot by world renowned photographer Ellen von Unwerth who has photographed stars including Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell and Beyonce, the campaign images of Darcey and the strapline for the new skincare range, ‘reduce the lines, not the laughter’, embody the Sanctuary Spa’s message of positive maturity instead of anti-ageing.

Speaking at the global launch of Active Reverse, a radiant Darcey commented: “By the time I reached 40 I noticed my skin was showing signs of ageing. I don’t want to stop time, but I’d like a little help in ensuring I grow old gracefully!”

On working with the brand, she added: “That’s why I’m delighted to work with the Sanctuary Spa; people who really understand womens’ skin and how to care for it, offering a real and noticeable difference. I’ve noticed that the products really work…since using Active Reverse my skin looks brighter, smoother and younger.”

The Sanctuary Spa Active Reverse range comprises of six skincare products packed with hard-working ingredients to reduce lines, firm skin and brighten complexions.  Currently available from Sanctuary Spas in Covent Garden, Richmond, Bristol and Cambridge, selected Debenhams stores, The Sanctuary Spa online and rolling out nationwide in Boots stores from early July.

Originally set up 35 years ago through an act of love by a man for his wife who was a dancer with The Royal Ballet, the Sanctuary was a place for ballerinas to unwind and enjoy treatments to relax tired muscles. Today, the Sanctuary Spa is a haven for all women; hard-working mums in need of some pampering, friends enjoying a fun day together and women who want treatments that offer real, visible results.

The Sanctuary Spa was the very first ladies only day spa in theUK and is run for women by women. Visited by over 64,000 women a year, our powerful treatments and spa days are designed to relax, replenish and breathe new vitality into all our guests.

35 years since the opening of the day spa inLondon’s Covent Garden, the Sanctuary Spa has bought its treatments to the high street and has opened boutique spas in Cambridge, Richmond and Bristol.

The Sanctuary therapists perform over 28,000 facials a year and so understand the changing needs of women’s skin as it ages. From 40 years onwards women’s skin can become dull and intensely dry. Active Reverse has been developed to address these specific mature skin issues one by one to help repair, strengthen, hydrate and protect skin.

The Active Reverse skincare range contains key active ingredient Matrixyl Synthe’6 which has been clinically proven to stimulate the production of the six major building blocks within the skin, resulting in visible wrinkle-filling and skin-lifting action.

Introducing new techniques and formulations, including a grain-free exfoliator which is worn all day under make-up, Active Reverse delivers the future of anti-ageing for real women who want to age gracefully.
