September 26, 2012… The National Ballet of Canada Celebrates Culture Days with a Ballet Class led by Principal Dancer Greta Hodgkinson. Aspiring dancers are able to participate in a unique open class with one of Canada’s leading ballerinas while their families, friends and other spectators have an inside look at the process on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at The Walter Carsen Centre. The event is now full for spectators although a few places are still open for dancers.
Follow us on Twitter @nationalballet on Friday, September 28 as the National Ballet provides an intimate look at a day in the life of a dancer, starting with the ritual of company class to physiotherapy, from rehearsals to fittings and pointe shoe preparation.
Culture Days is a collaborative movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities from September 28 – 30, 2012.
The National Ballet of Canada’s Ballet Class with the Stars series offers young dance enthusiasts the opportunity to take a class taught a Principal Dancers in the company’s rehearsal space. Click here for more information about upcoming classes.
