English National Ballet Promotions 2011/2012

No surprises that Vadim Muntagirov has been promoted from First Soloist to Principal dancer. He joined in 2009 and, despite his youth and inexperience, he has been dancing Principal roles on press nights for some time. He has formed a strong dance partnership with Senior Principal Daria Klimentová.

Similarly, Yonah Acosta’s technique was always going to be quickly recognised and along with Max Westwell, Junor Souza & James Streeter is promoted to Junior Soloist.  Max Westwell has been with the company for a number of years and after his triumph in Romeo & Juliet his promotion is well-earned.  He’s obviously going to have to do more in principal roles before he will be considered for that promotion.

English National Ballet new hires

Zdenek Konvalina will join the Company as Senior Principal; with Bridgett Zehr as Principal dancer. Both join us from the National Ballet of Canada. We are delighted to welcome them to the Company.

We also welcome twin brothers Vitor Menezes and Guilherme Menezes, and Ken Saruhashi who join us as Artists from English National Ballet School.

Congratulations to everyone!
