This morning English National Ballet’s Artistic Director and Principal dancer Tamara Rojo joined the BBC Breakfast presenters on the sofa to chat about how she combines the dual role.

Rojo joked with the presenters about how much kissing there is in classical ballet, as clips of her dancing Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty were shown, and she elaborated by saying that in Romeo & Juliet there is lots of proper “snogging” which isn’t bad for a job!

Rojo also explained how she manages her role as the boss and a dancer and splits her time during the day. She was keen to explain how important it is for her to make decisions for the company which have consquences for her directly as one of the dancers.
