LISA RILEY TO PRESENT STRICTLY RED CARPET EXCLUSIVE PROGRAMME FOR BBC IPLAYER AND BBC RED BUTTON
Strictly Come Dancing 2013 will return this autumn with a spectacular red carpet extravaganza to launch the series, and for the first time viewers and fans of the Saturday night show will get to go behind the scenes at the event, thanks to a special programme made exclusively for BBC iPlayer and BBC Red Button.
Presented by Strictly 2012 contestant Lisa Riley, who won the nation’s hearts with her professional partner Robin Windsor, the Strictly Red Carpet Exclusive will be available on Wednesday 4th September – less than 24 hours after the glittering red carpet event takes place – on iPlayer and Red Button delivering backstage access to the studio, interviews with all the 2013 celebrity line up on the red carpet, plus introductions to the new professional dancers Aljaz Skorjanec, Anya Garnis, Iveta Lukosiute, Janette Manrara and Kevin Clifton.
The twenty minute programme will bring all the glitz and glamour of the Hollywood style red carpet to life, and for viewers to see all the celebrity contestants of 2013 interviewed for the first time as they begin their journey into a life of sequins and sambas this autumn.
This exciting announcement builds on BBC iPlayer’s strategy to showcase more exclusive content within the service. With an average 17 million people per month accessing programmes via BBC iPlayer on over 650 devices and platforms, as well as around 25 million people per month pressing the red button from the comfort of their sofa, this gives fans the chance to get a front seat to this exclusive red carpet event whenever and wherever they want to.
