IVAN PUTROV & SERGEI POLUNIN RETURN TO SADLER’S WELLS FOR MORE MEN IN MOTION

Two of the biggest stars of the dance world, former Royal Ballet Principal Ivan Putrov and dance sensation, Sergei Polunin will star in a new production of Men in Motion, highlighting the range and virtuosity of the male dancer, at Sadler’s Wells from 13 – 15 March 2012.

Following in the footsteps of the great male dancers of the last century, Vaslav Nijinsky, Rudolf Nureyev and Vladimir Vasiliev, Ivan Putrov and Sergei Polunin will be joined for these performances by a number of leading international stars including Clyde Archer and Isaac Montllor, Principals from Spain’s Compañía Nacional de Danza and Tim Matiakis, a Soloist with Royal Ballet Denmark.

Programme highlights include one of the most famous works ever created for the male dancer, Vaslav Nijinsky’s L’après-midi d’un faune set to Debussy’s haunting score; Nacho Duato’s modern trio Remanso; and Leon Jacobson’s Vestris – a solo originally choreographed in 1969 for a young Mikhail Baryshnikov.
