Kathryn Morgan’s signed pointe shoes – WINNER ANNOUNCED

November 3, 2010

Ballet

A massive thank you to everyone who entered the competition to win a pair of Kathryn Morgan’s signed pointe shoes, launched on the first anniversary of her promotion to Soloist with New York City Ballet.  I think it’s fair to say that most of you found the second question a good deal harder than the first.  I wanted Kathryn’s shoes to go to someone who would really know about her work – hence the questions.  No-one got both answers right, so I have picked the winner from the correct entries for the first question.

The questions (and answers) were :

1. What role did Kathryn first perform at Nikolaj Hubbe’s farewell?

Flower Festival in Genzano

2. What was the first principal role Kathryn danced at the David Koch Theater, formerly the NY State Theater?

Christopher Wheeldon’s Carousel

And the WINNER is :

Charlotte Bonneton

Congratulations to Charlotte – please get in touch and we can arrange delivery of the shoes – and many thanks to everyone who entered.  There is always next time !

  1. Kathryn Morgan Says:

Thank you all so much for entering! I really appreciate it! I know the second question was difficult, but let me explain. My first principal role ever was Juliet in Sean Lavery’s Balcony pas de deux. However, I performed it during our annual trip to Saratoga Springs, not in NYC at the Koch Theatre. Later that fall, my first season in NYC, I performed Christopher Wheeldon’s Carousel for the fall gala at the Koch Theatre. So it was a very tricky question!
Thanks again to all who entered!
