December 29, 2010

Ballet, Ballet News

It’s 50 years since the Mariinsky Ballet were first presented to Londoners by Victor Hochhauser, and this summer they will return with a much anticipated line-up.

The Mariinsky Ballet will pay tribute to Jerome Robbins & George Balanchine with Balanchine’s Scotch Symphony, Ballet Imperial & In the Night.  The company also pays homage to Fokine wih Chopiniana and The Firebird.

It’s a great chance to see many of the company star dancers including Igor Zelensky & Alina Somova, with David Hallberg guesting with the company.

Also, ex-Royal Ballet dancer Xander Parish, who left to join the Mariinsky Ballet, will be here.  Cause for great celebration !
