Canada-Wide Master Class with Rex Harrington to Celebrate Culture Days
September 14, 2010… To celebrate Culture Days, The National Ballet of Canada presents a live webcast Master Class led by former Principal Dancer and current Artist-in-Residence Rex Harrington on September 25, 2010 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm EST. Ballet students in locations across Canada, from British Columbia to Newfoundland and the Northwest Territories, can take a class with registered participants streamed live for the first-time ever on the internet from the company’s rehearsal studios at The Walter Carsen Centre in Toronto.
“We are excited that the company can share what our dancers do in class everyday with students in dance studios and ballet fans in their homes across the country and to encourage people to celebrate Culture Days and embrace the vibrant arts and cultural life in their own communities,” says Mr. Harrington.
Culture Days is a collaborative movement to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of all Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. Events across Canada will feature free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes,” to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators and designers in their community. culturedays.ca
