December 10, 2010… Toronto Argonauts Adriano Belli, Andre Durie, Jeff Johnson and Taylor Robertson make their debut with The National Ballet of Canada in The Nutcracker in a special cameo appearance as Cannon Dolls.

Also making their debuts with the National Ballet in The Nutcracker this season are Flashpoint star Enrico Colantoni, stars of Degrassi Charlotte Arnold and Raymond Ablack, Ron James of The Ron James Show, CBC Radio Hosts Matt Galloway, Bob McDonald and Scott Regehr, HGTV Hosts Sarah Richardson and Tommy Smythe, Food Network Host Anna Olson, Soulpepper Theatre Company’s Albert Schultz, Minister of Health Promotion and Sport, The Honourable Margarett Best and Toronto City Councillors Michael Thompson and Adam Vaughan.

Celebrity walk-on roles are a long-held tradition with Nutcrackers all over the world. In the National Ballet’s production, the Cannon Doll guest roles are colourfully costumed as Russian Petrouchka dolls in Act I who shoot a cannon into the audience to begin the battle scene.

The Nutcracker is onstage at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts from December 11, 2010 to January 2, 2011.
