One year ago today, New York City Ballet dancer was promoted to Soloist.

To celebrate her anniversary and on-going achievements, I have a pair of Kathryn’s pointe shoes to give away to one lucky reader.

Kathryn has set two questions – it’s up to you whether you answer either or both – the first is easier than the second.

They are :

1. What role did Kathryn first perform at Nikolaj Hubbe’s farewell?

2. What was the first principal role Kathryn danced at the David Koch Theater, formerly the NY State Theater?

Please send in your answers, either by using the comment form or the contact me form, by the closing date which is Tuesday 2nd November 8pm GMT.  The lucky winner will be picked out of a shoe (Emma Hope, since you ask!), from all of the Ballet NEWS readers who have correctly answered at least one of the two questions. I will announce the winner shortly afterwards.

I will add some images of the shoes as soon as I can.

Good luck everyone !

This is such an unusual offering – refreshing.

By chance did you hear about the Birmingham Royal Ballet? Apparently they are being given MOT’s before performances … believe it or not this has cut down injuries by around 50%. This is surely inspiring.
