Queensland Ballet challenges the Guinness Book of Records for the World’s Largest Ballet Class

At 9am on Sunday 22 May, Queensland Ballet are challenging the Guinness Book of Record’s World Largest Ballet Class as part of the 2011 Ideas Festival. The record is currently 1,055 set by the Hannover Staatsoper last year.

So far 1,389 people have registered, so they will beat the record, but they are aiming even higher – for 2,011 in 2011.

Queensland Ballet’s World’s Largest Ballet Class

Anyone over the age of six years is encouraged to register and join Queensland Ballet’s company dancers on the Kurilpa Bridge in South Brisbane for a 30 minute basic, but fun classical barre class.

Absolutely anyone can sign up, of any dancing level – this really is an event for everyone aimed to bring some ballet and happiness into people’s lives.
