Skate at Somerset House presented by Tiffany & Co. returns for its annual season from 22 November 2011 – 22 January 2012, with a spectacular programme of activities on ice for everyone – skaters and spectators, families and friends.
Somerset House Ice Rink in the Edmond J Safra Fountain Court, will be a setting for entertainment, on and off the ice, with free access to the most beautiful open-air space in London all day and into the evening – making Somerset House the ultimate winter destination in London. Features this year include:
Teatime with Tiffany
Tiffany celebrates the fifth year of its association with Somerset House with a special treat for families presenting extra glamorous afternoon skate sessions. Ice dance experts will be on hand to show you how, and a free Tiffany teatime treat with a hot chocolate or tea, and a glass of champagne for adults, will make this a special family occasion.
Storytelling around the Tiffany Christmas tree
This year, families can gather round the Tiffany Christmas tree for free children’s story telling sessions with top children’s authors. The Tiffany Tree is decorated with illuminated carousel animals, each one inspired by the magical characters found on a secret carousel from Central Park, and adorned with twinkling lights reminiscent of the night-time New York skyline.
