Strictly Come Dancing Grand Final Part 2
So, Chelsee, Harry and Jason have each danced twice – a dance chosen by the judges and their Show Dance. Now one couple faces elimination, after which the remaining two couples will dance again twice – a new dance and one of their choosing.
On a day when it’s been estimated that Christmas shoppers have been spending a million pounds a minute, the Strictly audience should be a large one as weary and spent-out viewers collapse on the sofa.
What does Tess have on ? Curtains & the drapes ?
The results are in…
The sound gremlins are back – Wembley was also tricky for the BBC and tonight the Strictly team have to broadcast in 3D – are any of you watching in cinemas or on a 3D enabled tv ? Let me know how you found it !
The couple with the lowest votes and leaving, is Jason & Kristina. As we watch Jason’s highlights, it occurs to me that all through It Takes Two, and this series, Jason has never shied away from watching himself on television in the way that some of the other celebrities have. I don’t know a single dancer who likes to watch themselves in a videoed performance.
Harry and Chelsee go head to head, and the phone lines re-open. Both look dazed and scared.
Harry & Aliona dance the American Smooth, their new dance, to I can’t help falling in love. Beautiful lifts from Harry with Aliona curling into him. I’m still not seeing much emotion from Harry but the dance is beautiful. Bruce seems pretty confused tonight. Len saw an American Smooth to a Viennese Waltz, which he said was unbelievable. Alesha thinks the nation has fallen in love with Harry. Bruno thought it was the perfect fit for his charms. Craig said ” well if it wasn’t the final there would be a plethora of things I could say about your hands darling” but he loved it.
They score : 39
Are Chelsee and Pasha very brave or very mad to take on a Rhumba in the final ? The dance of death for most celebrities on Strictly. It’s beautiful, and she has the running splits that so tricked her earlier in the series because she was nervous. It’s assured, very grown-up for such a young couple, and all the emotions are there, plus all the dance. Well done. Great story telling and really fantastic dancing. Alesha picked up on how Chelsee puts her heart and soul into the dance and said it was “dramatically romantic.” Bruno said Chelsee acted it like a movie star and he loved it. Craig thought it was “absolutely magnificent.” Len watched it and he couldn’t find a thing wrong with it.
They score : 39 (Craig gave it a 9)
Harry & Aliona return with their Argentine Tango. It’s every bit as focused and fierce as it was first time around. Bruno said “so cutting, like a steel blade.” Craig said “I have fallen in love with you too darling.” Len said Harry delivered the intensity that was lacking when Harry performed it last. Alesha said “exquisite.”
They score : 40
Chelsee & Pasha’s Quickstep was their favourite dance, and they dance it again for the final. Check In desk. Tick. Rushed commuter. Tick. And they are off, whirling around the floor – flying, even ! Perfectly judged from Chelsee, who collects the ticket yet again ! Craig said “First Class.” Len said it could well be his favourite dance as well. Alesha loved everything and Bruno said “Strictly stunning.” They are going to score 40, aren’t they ?
They score : 39 to very loud boo’s at Craig’s 9.
Harry & Aliona lead the judges with 156, Chelsee & Pasha with 153. But it’s the public who will decide who is the winner tonight.
The cast of Strictly 2011 take to the floor together – certain trouble ! Robbie gets his crotch thrust in, despite warnings not to, though it looks a bit weak, Nancy emerges from the coffin, and Russell camps it up in pink to I want to dance with somebody.
And so the moment arrives .. has Chelsee or Harry accumulated the most public votes to win the competiton and lift the Glitterball Trophy with their professional partners, Aliona and Pasha ?
The Glitterball is in the house.
Millions have voted.
And the Strictly Come Dancing 2011 Champions are …. Harry & Aliona. They take to the floor with Tina Turner’s Simply the best.
