Strictly Come Dancing | rehearsal injury for Aliona Vilani

Strictly Come Dancing

Iveta Lukosiute

Iveta Lukosiute, current world champion in 10 styles of ballroom at 32 and from Lithuania, replaces injured Aliona Vilani for the first live show in the current series of Strictly Come Dancing this Friday, October 5th. Lukosiute has appeared on So You Think You Can Dance in the US, but this will be her first Strictly.

Vilani is likely to be out of the show for four weeks after she sustained an injury while rehearsing with her celebrity partner, Johnny Ball.  She has a hairline fracture of her lower right leg which prevents her from dancing.

Pending Lukosiute’s arrival in the UK Ball has been rehearsing with professional dancer Ian Waite, who no longer competes in the show and who danced with Darcey Bussell in the Strictly Premiere a fortnight ago.
