Strictly Come Dancing | Results Week 4
Julien Macdonald is the third celebrity to depart the dance floor in Strictly Come Dancing 2013
It was another evening of sequins and sparkles in the Strictly ballroom as hosts Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly invited the thirteen remaining couples to take to the dance floor once more ahead of the third vote off of the series.
TV Presenter Rachel Riley and her partner Pasha Kovalev; and Fashion Designer Julien Macdonald and professional partner Janette Manrara became the next two couples to face the dance-off. This was the third week in a row that Julien and Janette found themselves in the bottom two.
The thirteen remaining couples each danced a Samba, Tango, Jive, Foxtrot, Rumba, Salsa, Quickstep, Waltz, Cha Cha and Viennese Waltz in a bid to impress the viewers at home, as well as judges Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli & Craig Revel Horwood in the studio.
The judges’ scores were combined with the results of the viewers’ votes to decide the lowest scoring two couples facing the dance off.
Both couples then performed their routines again; Rachel and Pasha did their Quickstep to ‘Johnny Got a Boom Boom’ by Imelda May and Julien and Janette performed their Salsa to ‘Spice Up Your Life’ by The Spice Girls in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.
After both couples had danced a second time the judges delivered their verdicts with Craig, Darcey and Bruno all choosing to save Rachel.
Craig Revel Horwood said: “I am choosing the save the couple that simply danced the best on the night, Rachel and Pasha.”
Darcey Bussell said: “Both performances were 100 times better but for me it goes down to the difficulty of the dance and because of that I would like to save Rachel and Pasha.”
Bruno Tonioli said: “I have to go for content, skill and storytelling. My favourite dance was from Rachel and Pasha.”
With three judges all agreeing to save Rachel, Head Judge Len Goodman added afterwards that that he would have also voted the same as his colleagues.
Reflecting back on the results of tonight’s show, Julien said: “I’d like to thank everyone at home for voting for me, all the audience and the judges – even Craig! Most of all I’ve had an amazing time and this has been the best experience of my life and I’ve left on a high, I hope I have spiced everybody’s night up!”
Janette Manrara added: “I don’t think I have ever met anyone that has put in more hours to try and make it happen. I am so glad I had Julien as my first partner on Strictly.”
Sunday’s Results show featured a performance from Keane, singing ‘Everybody’s Changing’ and winner of The Voice UK 2013 Andrea Begley, singing ‘Dancing in the Dark.’
Next week Strictly Come Dancing is on Saturday 26thth October at 6:30pm with the results show on Sunday 27th October at 7:20pm on BBC One and BBC One HD.
