Hamburg Ballet’s John Neumeier choreographs Dialogue for Diana Vishneva in St. Petersburg, Moscow and New York

John Neumeier is creating a ballet called Dialogue for Diana Vishneva. The Artistic Director of The HAMBURG BALLET and the Russian prima ballerina have known each other for a long time, now Neumeier is choreographing for her for the first time. The pas de deux is the highlight of a triple bill, which demonstrates the development of dance in the 20th and 21st Centuries. The music selected is Variations on a Theme of Chopin by Federico Mompou. Errand into the Maze (1947) by Martha Graham and Subject to Change (2003) by Paul Lightfoot and Sol Leon form the remaining parts of the program. Diana Vishneva’s partner is Thiago Bordin, principal dancer with The HAMBURG BALLET.

The premiere will be at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg on October 22. In November performances at the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre will follow. In March 2012, the program will also be presented at New York City Center. The project called Diana Vishneva: Dialogues was jointly created by the Diana Vishneva Foundation and Ardani Artists Management.
