THE ROYAL OPERA HOUSE 2011/12 CINEMA SEASON

9 Productions, 22 Countries, Over 600 Cinemas

The Royal Opera House is pleased to announce its 2011/12 Cinema Season of nine titles, five live and four recently recorded productions, from the world renowned Covent Garden stage.  With a line up of some of the leading international artists performing today including  Principals of The Royal Ballet these performances will be screened in more than 600 cinemas around the world.

Thursday 15 December 2011 The Sleeping Beauty (The Royal Ballet live)

Thursday 22 March 2012 Romeo and Juliet (The Royal Ballet live)

Wednesday 16 May 2012 La fille mal gardée (The Royal Ballet live)

In 2012 The Royal Ballet returns to the live cinema experience with Kenneth MacMillan’s ever popular Romeo and Juliet on 22 March.  The final live screening of the Season is Frederick Ashton’s witty ballet La fille mal gardée on 16 May.

The generous support of Bank of America Merrill Lynch is already enabling the Royal Opera House to expand access to great performances far beyond the current level enabling people to have direct contact with both live and recorded productions in their home towns, wherever that may be across the world.
